Chaim Bloom
Vice President of Baseball Operations

CHAIM BLOOM (HIGH-em), 33, was promoted to senior vice president of baseball operations on Nov 4, 2016. In this role, he oversees all functions within baseball operations together with Erik Neander.

Bloom begins his 13th season in the Rays organization, with much of his past experience rooted in player development, departmental administration and international operations. First hired as an intern in February 2005, he was hired full-time that October and later promoted to assistant director of minor league operations in 2008, director of baseball operations in November 2011 and vice president of baseball operations in October 2014.

Prior to joining the Rays, Chaim served as a baseball operations intern for the San Diego Padres and a legal/corporate partnerships intern for Major League Baseball.

A Philadelphia native, Chaim attended Yale University, graduating in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in classics (Latin). He and his wife, Aliza, reside in St. Petersburg with their two sons, Isaiah and Judah.
