After 11 seasons in the Braves organization, Chino Cadahia joined the Braves Major League
coaching staff for the first time in 2007. He served two years (1996-97) as the roving catching
instructor and was named to the position of Minor League Field Coordinator in November 1997.
Cadahia, 51, came to the Braves in 1996 after serving in the Texas Rangers organization for 12
years as a pitching coach and manager in their minor league system. He began his coaching career
as a pitching coach at Salem of the Carolina League from 1984 through 1985. The following year he
managed Daytona Beach of the Florida State League, and in 1987 he managed at Gastonia of the
South Atlantic League. From 1988 through 1995, Cadahia managed the Rangers Gulf Coast League
rookie squad in Port Charlotte, Florida.
After being drafted by Philadelphia out of Miami-Dade Community College, Cadahia spent
seven minor league seasons, 1977 to 1983, with the Phillies and Minnesota Twins.
Chino and his wife Lynn reside in Visalia, CA, with their daughter Lauren.
