Coaching Career
David begins his first season as a coach at the major league level following four seasons as a manager and third base coach in the minors with the Reds system...Served his first and only season as manager of Cincinnati's Triple-A Louisville club last year...Prior to Louisville, served as the manager for Double-A Carolina from 2009-11, with the 2009 campaign marking his first stint as a manager or coach at the professional level...Following the 2009 campaign, he was selected to manage the Peoria Saguaros of the prestigious Arizona Fall League.

David enjoyed a 12-year major league career with Cleveland (1995, 1998), St. Louis (1995-98), Seattle (1998-2001), San Francisco (2002), Philadelphia (2003-06) and Milwaukee (2006)...The former infielder batted .257 (1,239-for-4,826) with 267 doubles, 123 home runs and 589 RBI in 1,403 major league games. ..Had a .282 batting average (33-for-117) in 35 post-season games, spanning seven series...Reached the ALCS with Seattle in both 2000 and 2001 before reaching the World Series with the N.L. Champion San Francisco Giants in 2002...Hit .304 (7-for-23) with a home run and four RBI in the 2002 Fall Classic, won by the Angels in seven games...Set career marks with 21 home runs and 78 RBI in 1999 with the Seattle Mariners...Batted a career-best .291 with Philadelphia in 2004...Made his major league debut in 1995 as a 22-year old with the Cleveland Indians ... traded to the St. Louis Cardinals, July 27 of the season, in a four-player deal that sent pitcher Ken Hill to the Indians...Selected by Cleveland in the seventh round of the 1990 draft from Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
