Bio:
Silverio is in his 33rd year in the Royals organization and his 6th as coach at the Major League level...Will return to coaching 3rd base after spending 2007 at 1st base...Was KC's 3rd base coach from 2005-06 and 1st base coach from 2003-04...Served as Coordinator of Dominican Republic Operations from 2000-02, as well as serving as the Minor League Outfield Instructor from 2000-01...Also served as general manager for the Royal's Dominican League affiliate in Salcedo from 1990-2002...Has served as a scout for the organization throughout his career...Worked as the club's Latin American Coordinator from 1993-99, overseeing the Royals' player development operations and scouting in the Dominican Republic and Panama...Began his coaching career in 1983 at Fort Myers and also coached at Charleston in 1984 and Sarasota in 1985...Managed for 4 seasons in the Royals' minor league system at Sarasota (1986-87) and Baseball City (1988-89)...Was named as the Gulf Coast League's Manager of the Year in 1987 after leading Sarasota to a 40-23 record and the South Division title.

Playing Career:
Silverio was originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Royals on Nov. 12, 1973 and played in the minor league system until 1982...Was named to the Gulf Coast League All-Star team in 1975...Made his Major League debut with the Royals in September, 1978...Hit .545 in 8 games.

Silverio is a 2-time recipient of the Ewing M. Kauffman Award in 1994 and 2000...The honor recognizes a scouting department employee for outstanding contributions to the organization...Joined Senior Advisor to the General Manager Art Stewart (1970, 1983) as the only 2-time winners of the award...Brother, Pedro, is the Royals Dominican Republic Academy Administrator...Has a grandson, Angel Luis.
