Miami recorded 778 runs scored, which ranked fifth in the National League. Marked second-highest total in club history, behind 2007 (790)... In 2016, Miami's o­ense ranked second among National League teams with a .263 team average, behind only Colorado. The o­ense also tallied 1,460 hits, ranking third among NL o­enses... Miami recorded 42 triples, tying for third-most in a single season in Club history (also 2006), behind 44 in both 2003 and 1999... Frank Menechino (men-eh-kee-no)...drafted out of University of Alabama in 1993 by Chicago White Sox (45th round), where he majored in a junior in 1992, led Crimson Tide in hitting (.349), walks (37) and stolen bases (22)...prior to transferring to Alabama, played baseball at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Fla.
