LeCROY RESUME: Begins his seventh season in a coaching role with the Nationals, his second on the Major League staff...Served as a Minor League manager in the Nationals' chain from 2009-13...Spent 2012 and 2013 managing at Double-A Harrisburg, including a 2013 season in which four of his players made their MLB debuts straight from Double-A: Anthony Rendon, Taylor Jordan, Nathan Karns and Ian Krol...Managed Single-A Potomac in 2011 and enjoyed two seasons (2009, 2010) as skipper at Class-A Hagerstown...Joined the Nationals coaching ranks prior to the 2009 season after retiring as a player in 2008...In addition to Rendon, Jordan, Karns and Krol, during his tenure in Washington's chain, had a hand in the development of Drew Storen, Steven Souza Jr., Tyler Moore, Steve Lombardozzi, Brian Goodwin and Eury Perez, among many others.

PLAYING CAREER: In eight Major League seasons with Minnesota (2000-05, '07) and Washington (2006), LeCroy batted .260 with 68 doubles, 60 home runs and 218 RBI in 476 games...Posted a career .440 slugging percentage despite often playing the grueling position of catcher...Reached the postseason four times with the Twins and batted .269 in 10 playoff contests...As a player, had the privilege to learn from three of the highest-regarded managers in the game: Minnesota's Tom Kelly (2000-01) and Ron Gardenhire (2002-05, '07), and Washington's Frank Robinson (2006).

PERSONAL: Matthew Hanks LeCroy...As a catcher and first baseman was selected in the sandwich round (50th overall) of the 1997 First-Year Player Draft out of Clemson University...Resides in Belton, S.C. with his wife, Holly, and their five children: Isabella (10), Maggie (8), Noah (6), Max (3) and Mabree (3).
