David Allen Aardsma (ARDZ-muh)...resides in Scottsdale, Ariz. with his wife Andrea...his sister, Amanda, is an actress...is the first player listed alphabetically in baseball history, ahead of Hank Aaron...attended Penn State University for his freshman year in college before transferring to Rice University...helped the Owls win the 2003 National Championship, retiring 15 of the 16 batters he faced in the College World Series...went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA (5.0 IP) and one save at the CWS...set the school's all-time saves record with 17, breaking the mark of 14 held by Matt Anderson, the first overall selection in the 1997 draft...also set the school record with 12 saves in 2003 when he was 7-3 with a 2.97 ERA (19 ER, 57.2 IP)...graduated in 2000 from Cherry Creek (CO) High School in Denver, which was also the high school of Major Leaguers Josh Bard, John Burke, Brad Lidge, Darnell McDonald, and Donzell McDonald.
