GROW THE GAME

Joining a baseball team, buying equipment, and attending clinics and camps is expensive. It comes at a cost that creates barriers which hold many aspiring young athletes back from participating in organized sport.

The Toronto Blue Jays are proud supporters of amateur baseball across Canada. By supporting the Grow the Game Drive, you are helping the Blue Jays, through Jays Care Foundation, remove financial barriers to sport and provide children and youth access to baseball who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play. Thanks to the generosity of Blue Jays fans across Canada, more than 190 pieces of equipment was provided to children and youth in order to #GrowTheGame of baseball across Canada in 2013.

Please indicate the number of gifts you would like to purchase and help #GrowTheGame in 2014!

Send More Kids to Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie League

Baseball teaches the fundamental life skills of teamwork and cooperation; dedication and discipline; respect and responsibility; self-confidence and independence. Through a partnership with Toronto Community Housing and Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, the Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie League introduces children and youth living in under-resourced communities to the sport of baseball. For many participants, these opportunities represent their very first opportunity to experience organized sport. This year round-program is offered at no cost to participants and their families. In 2013, Rookie League celebrated its 25th season, and provided access to organized sport to 6,330 children and youth in 90 communities across all ten provinces and the Yukon Territory. Your donation will ensure that more children and youth across Canada are given the opportunity to discover the sport of baseball through the Rookie League program.

Safety Balls

Hardballs are – you guessed it – hard. In much the same way training wheels help teach children how to ride a bike safely, safety balls are designed to help teach the game of baseball while making safety a priority.
