CHICAGO -- Chicago 2016 has named Windy City-native Ernie Young to its Athlete Advisory Committee.

Young, a member of the gold medal-winning United States Olympic Baseball Team in Sydney in 2000 and current coach in the Chicago White Sox farm system, was unanimously named to the position by the Chicago 2016 Board of Directors.

In addition to his recent Chicago 2016 appointment, Young is also a member of the USA Baseball Board of Directors and works closely with the International Baseball Federation, representing it most recently at the International Olympic Committee’s III Athlete’s Forum in Dubai in the fall of 2007.
