Carl Nichols Bio:

Carl Nichols was a member of the USA Baseball 14U National Team Trials Staff in Orlando in November of 2007. Nichols also served on the Task Force for the USA Baseball Champions Program (14U) last year as well. He was named to the 2008 14U National Team coaching staff in January and will help mentor the team as it tries to capture gold at the Pan Am Qualifier in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Nichols was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the fourth round of the 1980 Amateur draft. In 1989 Nichols was traded to the Houston Astros, where he remained until his final season in 1991. Nichols currently works for the MLB Urban Youth Academy, a baseball/softball instructional facility located in Compton, Calif.
