RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL—Team USA's Gold Medal Game of the Pan American Baseball Game with Cuba has been delayed due to poor field conditions, now tentatively scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday at Cidade do Rock Sports Complex. A game-time decision will be made on Friday in regards to the field conditions.

The other Pan American Games at the venue were also delayed due to the rain storm that hit the Rio area the night before.

On Wednesday, Team USA defeated Brazil (7-5) and Mexico (2-1) giving them a perfect 4-0 at the Games and 15-5 overall mark this summer. Cuba is 3-1, having beaten Nicaragua 4-0 yesterday.

This is the third delay for the baseball field, as the original schedule for July 14, Team USA's (and Pool A's) games, were pushed back a day, after it was determined that night games were not possible due to the lights at the field. Following a rain storm the night of July 16, the Americans were forced to play a doubleheader, while other games were moved to July 18, in order to reach the medal games on July 19. Those games have now been pushed back a day.

Team USA is slated to play China in Mobile, AL starting on July 22 and 23, as they continue their summer schedule, playing in the Southeast United States finishing in the Durham area on July 30. They finish their summer in the Netherlands, playing at the World Port Tournament, from August 2 to 12.
