The Nationals proudly work with nonprofit organizations to increase awareness for their causes. Throughout the season, a variety of organizations are given the opportunity to distribute materials about their mission, services, research, and events during Nationals home games at the Community Clubhouse. They are also encouraged to fundraise through ticket sales opportunities. For more information, please e-mail community.relations@nationals.com.
In-Game Military Salute
The Nationals offer premium seating in the Lexus Presidents Club for wounded veterans and their families during every home game. The tickets include a gourmet buffet, complimentary in-seat food and beverage service and views of the underground batting cages and post-game press conference.
At the end of the third inning, honorees are recognized on NatsHD and receive a standing ovation from fans. On occasion, military leadership, as well as numerous politicians, Supreme Court Justices and celebrities request to honor wounded service members by taking part in the salute.
Me and a Friend Program (Sunday home games)
In partnership with USO of Metropolitan Washington, this program recognizes the challenges that military children face as they continually relocate due to their parents' military assignments. The Nationals provide tickets to children of active duty service members for every Sunday game of the season, giving them the opportunity to use the free tickets to connect with peers and help make new friends. The group is also first in line for Kids Run the Bases after the game.
